Be a Santa to a Senior
Each year Home Instead partners with the Parkside Centre and other local organizations to spread holiday cheer to lonely or financially-challenged seniors through the Be a Santa to a Senior program. Local seniors are identified who might not otherwise receive gifts during the holiday season. The Parkside sets up a large Christmas tree in the lobby which Home Instead adorns with ornaments. Each senior’s gift requests are written on these ornaments. People then visit the Centre to take an ornament, register it with one of our volunteers, purchase the gift and return it and the ornament to the Centre to be wrapped at a Wrapping Party. This is a great way to help an isolated and under privileged senior.
