Clogging
Instruction in this American folk dance is offered at various experience levels.  Tap shoes are not required for new beginners. The clogging classes will be led by ParkSide Centre members Anita Belfry and Betty Sutton.
 
Beginner Plus & Intermediate:

New Beginners:  This beginner “clogging” class will teach the basic steps along with some easier dance routines and is a prerequisite for the Tuesday clogging class.
 
Wednesdays

Please drop in to experience this American folk dance. Instruction is offered at various experience levels and tap shoes are not required to start. Practices are held every Tuesday morning at 9:30 am from
September to June with a short break over the Christmas period. The group welcomes new members and a Beginner level program is also available for those wanting to learn this dance. Many genres of music are used for clogging including bluegrass, country, fiddling, Celtic, pop and traditional. Please contact the ParkSide Centre for more information.

Line Dancing

If you have always liked to dance, or wanted to learn how, this class may be for you. The music will be familiar to most and the footwork patterns are introduced slowly with plenty of practice time allowed. It is a good way to get a little exercise while improving your memory, balance, coordination and overall strength.

Line Dancing 2 The Beat With Colette & Pete

A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows, all facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time. Colette Proulx and Pierette  “Pete” Vincent-Schroeder have a passion for this form of dance and will be teaching it at the ParkSide Centre.

Bellydancing for Beginners                                                 

Join Murielle Jacques as she teaches you this fun choreographed group dance set to Middle Eastern music. In this class you will learn the history and traditions of belly dance. You will also receive handouts as needed. You will be taught several moves along with the correct posture to prevent injuries and perform the moves. The moves to be learned include basic Egyptian, coup-de-hanche, shimmi, shassé, vibration, figure 8, washing machine, etc. This class is ideal for those who want to experience dancing in a group, or simply to learn something new.

Garson - Sudbury Northern Lights Square Dancing

The Sudbury-Garson Northern Lights Square Dancers are a group who meet every Wednesday night at the ParkSide Centre at 6 30 p.m. The group has Basic, Mainstream and Plus Dancers. Not only do you exercise your body, you exercise your brain by remembering all the moves. The group also visits other Square Dance Clubs in the area.
