Clogging
Clogging is an American folk dance, originating in the British Isles and practiced in various forms throughout the world. Many genres of music are used for this dance including, bluegrass, country, fiddling, Celtic, pop and traditional.  New dancers are always welcome to join the group and a “New Beginner” level program is available for those wanting to learn this dance.  Tap shoes are not required to start. Please contact the ParkSide Centre for more information.

Traditional Line Dancing
If you have always liked to dance, or wanted to learn how, this class may be for you. The music will be familiar to most and the footwork patterns are introduced slowly with plenty of practice time included during each class. It has been well documented that dancing is a good way to get a little exercise while improving your overall strength, coordination, balance and memory.

Line Dancing 2 The Beat With Colette & Pete
A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows, all facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time. Colette Proulx and Pierette “Pete” Vincent-Schroeder have a passion for this form of dance and will be teaching it at the ParkSide Centre.

Bellydancing for Beginners
Join Murielle Jacques as she teaches you this fun choreographed group dance set to Middle Eastern music. In this class you will learn the history and traditions of belly dance. You will also receive handouts as needed. You will be taught several moves along with the correct posture to prevent injuries and perform the moves. The moves to be learned include basic Egyptian, coup-de-hanche, shimmi, shassé, vibration, figure 8, washing machine, etc. This class is ideal for those who want to experience dancing in a group, or simply to learn something new.

Ballroom Line Dancing
In this class, instructor Jan Fregonese will teach you the basic fundamentals of a variety of Ballroom Dances, without the concern about leading or following your partner. She will lead you through a collection of choreographed ballroom steps performed in a line formation. The various movements involve a variety of walking, swiveling or turning movements done to the music of many Latin dances such as the Cha Cha, Mambo, Samba, Rumba, and the Merengue.
